International Accreditation

Strathclyde Business School has achieved accreditation from the three international accrediting bodies of management education AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA are the only three internationally recognised organisations that can accredit a business school and only the very best, which satisfy stringent benchmarks, are approved. Schools can fail to be accredited at various stages throughout the process – even from earliest application, if preliminary requirements are not satisfied.

This means that Strathclyde is one of only 27 schools in the world to have EQUIS and AACSB, and one of only 17 to hold all three, joining an elite group of international schools around the globe. Strathclyde is the only school in Scotland to hold triple accreditation and one of just nine in the UK.

Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business

AACSB International

AACSB International was founded in 1916 and began its accreditation function with the adoption of the first standards in 1919.

AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools, worldwide. Institutions that earn accreditation confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement through a rigorous and comprehensive peer review. AACSB International accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in management education.

European Quality Improvement System

EQUIS Accepted

EQUIS is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. Its fundamental objective is to raise the standard of management education worldwide. EQUIS facilitates standard setting, benchmarking, mutual learning, and the dissemination across borders of good practice.

The EQUIS Quality Label is intended to provide recognition beyond the domestic environment to institutions that, in addition to satisfying high quality standards in their national market, are also credible in the international arena. Institutions that are accredited by EQUIS must demonstrate not only high general quality in all dimensions of their activities, but also a high degree of internationalisation.
